BEEF STIR-FRY

When I lived in Hawaii I had a friend who was a chef at one of the top restaurants, he confided in me that the secret ingredient that I loved in so many dishes was oyster sauce...it is sweet and salty...love it! This is super easy, tastes great and kids love it.

1-2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Lb Top Sirloin Filet, cut into thin strips
1 Lb Broccolli (fresh or frozen)
1 Large Onion
4 Tablespoons of a good Oyster Sauce (should be located near soy sauces at your market)
1 Tablespoon Red Pepper (more or less depending on how hot you like it)
Soy Sauce (Optional)
Cooked Rice

Heat 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil in large skillet on high heat, add beef and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Take sirloin out of pan and set aside. Add 1 Tablespoon of oil, onion and broccolli and stir-fry for 4-8 minutes (it takes longer if it is frozen). Mix sirloin back in with vegetables and add oyster sauce and red pepper. Cook and stir everything together (few minutes). Serve over rice.

My daughter likes to do her own extra red pepper seasoning over the rice..."momma, you never give it enough heat."
